Hey there, I’m Niki.My work in coffee spans education, competition, community organizing, and hands-on training. In 2021, placed second in a national brewing competition with a custom pour-over recipe and DIY brewing device I created myself, an experience that deepened my interest in the intersection of coffee technique, creativity and sensory understanding. In 2025, I won a LA-based signature beverage competition, by creating outrageously delicious coffee drinks on the spot.Beyond brewing and drink creation, I’ve been actively involved in building community in coffee. I’ve hosted several virtual coffee conferences, bringing together coffee professionals of color to share knowledge and perspectives across the industry. I’ve also helped facilitate and emcee coffee events in Chicago, supporting spaces where coffee professionals and enthusiasts can connect and learn from one another.Through workshops and training sessions, I help people develop a deeper understanding of coffee, from tasting and brewing to the creative process of building blends. My workshops are designed to make coffee approachable while still honoring the craft and science behind it.As a consultant, I work with cafés to strengthen their coffee programs through barista training, workflow improvements, and coffee education that builds confidence behind the bar. I also craft signature coffee blends for both cafés and individuals.My approach is grounded in a simple idea: coffee is part science, part intuition. And great coffee experiences come from developing both.
